The NEW South Face Road is now OPEN!
It provides faster and more convenient travel to Mt Baw Baw, especially from Sale, Traralgon, Morwell, Churchill and other towns to the east of Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort.
The South Face Road provides a direct link from Erica, Rawson and Walhalla to Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort. Travel time between Erica and Rawson to Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort is less than 40 minutes.
The South Face Road is unsealed, but it provides all weather access without steep gradients or sharp hairpin bends. The road was developed as a logging road and has been designed to modern transport standards. In winter, the South Face Road is cleared of snow.
A major intersection with new ticket office and entry gate has been developed at the Neulynes Mill site on the Mt Baw Baw Tourist Road.
